Parable of the SunsetAeons ago, when the Tapestry of Fate was woven thin and angels roamed the celestial plains with freedom, there did exist two brothers in arms. They both stood watch over the world, one angel watching the Earth for twelve hours, the other for the other twelve, each day. The one who took the first shift was known as Day, and was quick to laugh out loud and enjoyed life in general. His powder-blue wings sheltered the world from the evils of Beyond so that those below may enjoy the fresh air and warm sun. The other, known as Night, was more secluded, brooding, but he housed an inner animal, shown only on rare instances. His pitch wings shielded the sleeping and defenseless masses on the planet below even from the light of the sun, so fierce was his protection.These two, although sharing a post, carried a deep resentment for each other. Day believed that Night turned the people of the earth inward, dampening their fun and delight. Night believed that Day was too busy having fun and running
It's What's For Dinner(Lights up dining room setting, an empty table with no place settings and 4 chairs. A cabinet filled with plates, napkins and silverware stands against the back wall. Enter FATHER, a man in his mid-40s, in three-piece suit.)FATHER: Honey, I'm home! (Applause track)(Enter MOTHER, dressed in a dress and an apron. She looks like something out of a 1950s sitcom, as does FATHER.)MOTHER: Hello, dear! How was work today?FATHER: Just swell, honey.MOTHER: Dinner's in the oven, dear. (FATHER goes to leave.) Oh, I should mention, Alicia has a friend coming for dinner tonight.FATHER: Oh dear! I hope she doesn't bite!(They laugh, and a laugh track plays. FATHER and MOTHER exit.
